Description
The Silk necklace is made using the soutache embroidery technique.
This necklace is part of a Special Book Collection I created inspired by novels I love.
To realize it I was inspired by the novel Seta (Silk) by the Italian writer Alessandro Baricco.
The novel Seta talks about a man who, during a business trip to buy silkworms, meets a beautiful woman.
The desire for this woman will accompany him throughout his life.
The necklace’s pendant is a tribute to the beautiful woman described in the book.
Italian soutache cords wrap around an amazing handmade mother of pearl cabochon.
The precious handmade shibori silk wraps the pendant like a scarf.
Crystals and fiberglass flowers decorate the sides of the cabochon.
The basis is decorated with Swarovski beads, small crystals and with a lovely golden flower bell.
The dimensions of the necklace are:
Length of the cotton cord is 50 cm.
Dimensions of the pendant are: 12 X 7 cm.
Necklace weight is: 32 gr.
